November 2015 Newsletter
I had hoped that this news letter would be a celebration of a new style; and that we were beginning, as an association, to embrace modern communications systems.
However, following last Friday’s atrocities in Paris I have to start by expressing our disgust with the activities of a few mindless moronic individuals. Our thoughts are with all our friends in France and that I, and I am sure all of us here in Oswestry, wish you well. In the end I know that provided we stand together “liberté, égalité and fraternité” will win through.
Combs la Ville, we are with you.
Sunday 6th September and the sun shone on the righteous.
Our thanks go to Pat and Brian who, once again, lent us the garden and house for the day. Around 30 people enjoyed the sunshine and BBQ raising some £230 for the association.
What a great night, plenty of prizes and loads of winners, and the big winner was the Twinning Association as we walked away with a whacking £745 profit. There were over 50 people at the cricket club.
Our thanks to the team at the cricket club for all their help.
More pictures are being posted in Facebook (use this link) and on the website.

We will be hosting pictures and news on it so to see all the pictures please visit it. It will also enable us to keep the size of these news letters smaller so that we do not clog your in box.
We have just heard that, following a bid submitted to the council on our behalf by chairman Dave, we have been awarded a grant of £750 towards the cost of the visit in 2016.

SAVING FOR FRANCE 2017
Your committee has decided to help you save towards the next trip.
We are setting up a saving account so that you can pay in a modest sum monthly. The facility will start in January. With 16 months to go to the next visit a saving of £8 per month will give you £128 already paid. You can save as much or as little as you like. The money will be kept in a dedicated account. Jeanette has agreed to administer the facility working with treasurer Matt.
Just email if you are interested, and she will be in touch.
